Custom Kitchen Cabinets in Chester County, PA
Our shop is in Honey Brook, on the western edge of Chester County, and most of the kitchens we build end up somewhere in the same county. It's a big one: about 750 square miles and 73 separate municipalities, and one of the three counties William Penn created in 1682. The kitchens across it are about as varied as the county is.
Every cabinet is built to order in our shop and installed by our own crew, whether the house is a Victorian home on the Main Line or a farmhouse on a back road outside Elverson.
Built in the County You Live In
Most "custom" cabinetry is built somewhere else and shipped in. Ours is built a drive away from your house by our Amish cabinetmakers, which matters in ways that go beyond the sales pitch. For example:
- The people who measure are connected to the people who build. Questions about an out-of-square wall or an odd window get answered before a cabinet is cut, not discovered on install day.
- Installs are scheduled around our crew, not a freight window. If something needs to change, it's done with a phone call to the shop.
- After the install, we're close. Doors and drawers get adjusted at the walkthrough, and if something needs attention after your first winter with the heat on, we're not in another state.
Five Parts of the County, Five Kinds of Kitchen
Chester County isn't one housing market, and the kitchens we're called into change a lot depending on where you are.
The eastern Main Line: Wayne, Paoli, Berwyn, Chesterbrook, and Malvern. Older homes from the railroad era sit next to postwar neighborhoods and 1970s–80s planned communities. Expect everything from butler's pantries in 1890s houses to soffited galley kitchens in townhomes that still have their original cabinets.
The central boroughs and their suburbs: West Chester, Downingtown, Exton, and Frazer. Brick twins and rowhomes stand in the borough centers, and a ring of subdivisions from the 1970s through the 2000s fans around them. In the boroughs, the challenge is fitting a narrow, out-of-square room. In the subdivisions, it's replacing builder-grade cabinetry that's reached the end of its life.
The northern countryside: Chester Springs, Elverson, Honey Brook, and Glenmoore. Stone farmhouses are often seen with kitchen additions that don't line up with the original house. Newer homes on larger lots with bigger kitchens offer more linear feet and often a walk-in pantry.
The west: Coatesville, Parkesburg, and Downingtown's western townships. Older mill-town and railroad-era housing exists here alongside newer developments, with plenty of practical, hard-working kitchens that need more storage than they have.
The south: Unionville, Kennett Square, West Grove and the country roads around them. Here we work in horse-country farmhouses and estate homes, newer construction, and kitchens that often need to handle a lot of people at once.
Your kitchen won't fit a region's description exactly. But knowing the homes in each area tells us what to look for at the first visit.
What Stays the Same Everywhere
Whatever part of the county you're in, the cabinetry is built the same way, with dovetailed solid-hardwood drawer boxes, mortise-and-tenon face frames, furniture-grade plywood boxes, and hand-sanded finishes sealed with a catalyzed topcoat. We design, build, finish and install the cabinets, and we coordinate with trusted trade partners for plumbing, electrical, flooring and tile, so you have one point of contact.
Check out two projects that show our range: a light-stained kitchen remodel in Downingtown, built alongside an in-law suite addition, and a storage-focused new-construction kitchen.
Cost and Timeline Across Chester County
Custom cabinetry generally runs $600 to $1,200 per linear foot anywhere in the county. Pricing doesn't change by town; it changes with the size of the kitchen, the wood species, the door style, the finish and the storage features. Most kitchens take 2 to 6 months from first contact to finished product, almost all of which is shop build time. See how the project runs on our process page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where exactly is your shop?
353 Pequea Ave in Honey Brook, in western Chester County. You're welcome to set up a visit.
Does it cost more if I'm on the far side of the county from Honey Brook?
No. Pricing is based on the kitchen, not the drive.
How far outside Chester County do you go?
Delaware County is regular territory too, and we take projects beyond both counties case by case. Always call and ask.
Do you work with builders and contractors on new construction in the county?
Yes, through our wholesale and trade program.
Do I need a permit to replace kitchen cabinets in my township?
Generally not, if walls, plumbing, and electrical stay where they are. Each of the county's municipalities runs its own permits, so if the project changes the layout, we'll tell you it's time to check with yours.
